Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day! For those who are mothers we honor you for providing and nurturing life! What an honor and a gift of the Lord to bear children and fulfilling God’s command to be fruitful and multiply! Without you God’s kingdom would not expand and His purposes would not be fulfilled. Praise God for motherhood and the gift of children! “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.” -Psalms 127:3 NLT

“She is clothed with strength and dignity…

When she speaks, her words are wise

and she gives instructions with kindness.

She carefully watches everything in her household”

-Proverbs 31:25-27 NLT

I write to you to help continue encouraging you in your walk with Christ. Today I recorded a video about abiding in Christ and it’s a daily reminder to abide in Him, in His love, and to continue loving others. Jesus is considered the vine and we are the branches. Just as you may see grapevines grow, the branches bear fruit. But the fruit has to be nourished by the vine.

The Passion Translation expresses it beautifully:

“When your lives bear abundant fruit, you demonstrate that you are my mature disciples who glorify my Father! I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves me. You must continually let my love nourish your hearts. If you keep my commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love. My purpose for telling you these things is so that the joy that I experience will fill your hearts with overflowing gladness! So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you.” -John 15:8-12 TPT

I like how this translation points out “You must continually let my love nourish your hearts!” It is that connection we are tasked to allow that love to continually nourish our hearts. How do we do that? Meditate on His love and let love flow where we receive His love and from that love we can express and bear that love fruit to others. Jesus also states that we must keep His commands and we will live in His love. There is something about following a command. We have to receive that command and set forth with intentionally living in that love, bearing the fruit of love, and letting our hearts be pliable to love deeply. Let go of the things that hurt you and weigh on your heart. Jesus taught forgiveness and I believe it's to keep our hearts from being burdened by hurts. Let the heart flow in love and let the fruit of God’s love flow through you just as a grape on a vine receives its resources from the nutrients passed on from its source, we get to enjoy the fruitfulness and nourishment that is produced. Let us be fruitful and multiply! I hope this helps gain perspective because I believe it's the love of God that transforms our lives. It's simple, yet so profound when we can meditate on His love and let love overflow through our hearts and into the world.

May God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus name!

God bless you and I will write to you again next week!

With you in Christ,

Truly Living Team
